Sunny Trip on the Thames Sept 2020

On the 6th September 2020 Phil organised a sunny trip down the Thames  starting at Walton Bridge.

We headed upstream to Shepperton Weir and then  across to the beginning of the Wey Navigation. We headed up another tributory of the Thames and came to the 2nd weir next to Sheperton Lock.

We then  headed around the loop just downstream of Shepperton lock to end up at Walton Bridge for lunch. After lunch we continued to downstream to Molesey lock where we stopped to look at the rollers. We choose not to go down the rollers but decided to return to Walton Bridge.

On the way back to Walton Bridge we saw an interesting sight a man on a push bike on the water and he was going quite fast. By the end of the day we had paddled 8.5 miles in about 3 hrs which was a pretty good pace.

After the trip the following people made the following comments:-

Peter said  – Thanks Phil

Great trip and lovely new bit of the Thames for me.

Malcolm said – Thanks Phil. A great trip and a bit of the Thames I had not paddled before. A paddle to Hampton Court from same start would be good.

A great day was had by all so thanks for a great day out Phil.
