BC Quality Club Celebration
On Tuesday 29th November 2022 the Club Celebrated being Awarded the British Canoeing Quality Club Accreditation.
We also celebrated being award BC Champion Club for our environmental work on local rivers clearing Himalayan Balsam, a non-native invasive species and Floating Pennywort.
James Hinves, the Club Support Manager from British Canoeing, attended the celebration to present the accreditations to the Club’s President, Noel Humphrey.
Our Quality Club Secretary Julia Barclay provided a lovely cake which we all enjoyed.
Julia made the following comments about the Club’s Achievement about being accredited with the BC Quality Club accreditation:-
“We found working towards Quality Club helped ensure all our documents were up to date. We particularly found writing out the Values, Purpose and Vision of the Club to be a useful exercise.
We had an opening paragraph in our constitution that gave a combined Vision and Purpose, but our values were inferred rather than stated. Now we have spent time working on identifying our Values, Purpose and Vision it helps with planning our Clubs Aims and Ambitions, ensuring they are in keeping with Club Values.”
