The PCC Declaration includes three elements:-
- The PCC Declaration
- The Members Consent
- The BC Water Confidence statement
The PCC Declaration also refers to:-
We can confirm that we have informed the PCC Membership Secretary of any changes to our PCC Membership Details, since we joined the club, by completing a new PCC Membership Renewal form and sending it to them.
Upon acceptance of membership of Purley Canoe Club, I/we understand that:-
- Canoeing is undertaken at my/our own risk. As a Parent/Guardian we understand these risks and take full responsibility for our children.
- Our participation in activities is at the discretion of the activity organiser.
- We understand that the club/ organisers accept no responsibility for loss, damage or injury caused by or during attendance of the organised activity/ event except where such loss, damage or injury can be shown to result directly from the negligence of the club/ organisers.
- We confirm that we have informed the club in writing of any disability or medical condition which affects us, and understand that this information will be passed on, in confidence, to selected committee members and coaches in order to minimise the risk to ourselves, our child and other Club members (refer to the PCC Policy for storing Medical and Next of Kin data)
- We undertake to inform the Club if we subsequently develop any medical condition or disability, and we understand our responsibility to ensure that any medical information held by the Club is kept up to date.
- We also agree to inform the nominated coach of our medical condition on every activity.
- We consent to our children travelling by any form of transport arranged or approved by the organisation and related to the specific activity/event.
- We agree to be at the pick-up/ drop-off point at the agreed time.
- We are responsible for completing this form accurately and including all details that might be needed by the person in charge.
- We agree that all personal details, disclosed on this form, including medical information, can be held confidentially on a Club Data Base, managed by the PCC Membership Secretary & may be shared with club officials/ coaches.
- We are responsible for any errors and omissions to personal information and accept liability for any direct or indirect consequences that might arise from these errors or omissions.
- We agree to abide by The Club Rules laid down in The Club’s Constitution as well as the PCC Code of Conduct , PCC Junior Code of Conduct and the PCC Health and Safety Policy .
- We understand the Club implements the Paddle UK Safeguarding Policies.
- A copy of the Club Constitution is available on request from Club Officials.
On your PCC Membership form you will be asked to sign the following declaration’s :-
N.B.:- A parent or guardian must sign these declarations on behalf of anyone applying for Junior Membership.
- I confirm that the Data I have provided in my Membership Form is accurate at the time of completing the form.
- I agree to the Data provided by me being held by Purley Canoe Club in accordance with the PCC GDPR Statement in order for my data to be used for Club administration and to keep me informed of Cub Activities.
- I understand and will comply with the BC Water Confidence statement when paddling on club events.
- I agree to share my information with British Canoeing – All “PCC paddlers” must sign this declaration
- I understand and agree with this PCC Declaration which is based on the PCC Constitution.
- ALL PCC members must sign this declaration when they join the Club.
- A copy of the Club’s Constitution is available on request from Club Officials.
N.B. “PCC Paddlers” are those members who physically paddle with the Club. “Non PCC Paddlers” are those members who do not physically paddle with the club e.g. family members who watch from the bank.
- I am aware that canoeing is a potentially dangerous sport.
- I accept that the Club, its leaders, instructors and members cannot be held responsible for any injury or loss sustained during a club trip.
- When participating in paddlesport activities the ability to swim is desirable but not essential.
- In a coached or supervised session, non swimming participants should be confident in the water, not panic and be able to follow instructions in the event of a capsize.
- The ability to be able to swim is an important skill to have when paddling in non sheltered water.
