PCC Website T & C's
Purley Canoe Club (PCC) Members agree to the following “PCC Website Terms and Conditions” when they use the Club’s website by logging into the member’s area on the PCC website.
Members Resposnsibilities
- Each individual PCC Member is responsible for all the content they post on PCC website or members area.
- Each PCC Member must adhere to the principles of the Club’s Code of Conduct and PCC Rules when posting any content on PCC website or members area.
- Each PCC Member must ensure that they uphold the values and ethics of PCC and British Canoeing (BC) when posting any content on PCC website or members area, i.e. values of fairness, equality and respect for other members
- Each PCC Member must ensure that the content that they post onto PCC website or members area, is not offensive to other members and it does not cause abuse to other members in line with the Club’s constitution;, including the following Club policies and procedures:- PCC Equality Policy; BC Safeguarding Policy 2000, PCC Child Protection and Harassment policy, and the BC Photograph policy.
Website Administrator Rights & Responsibilities
- The Club’s Website Administrator holds the right to remove any of the content members post on the PCC website because its content is inappropriate and does not represent the aims, values or ethics of the Club or the BC, or its content is against the Club’s “duty of care” to its members as outlined in the Club’s constitution (section 15).
- The Club’s Website Administrator holds the right not to publish members reports either on the PCC’s public website or the PCC’s member’s area because its content is inappropriate and does not represent the aims, values or ethics of the Club or British Canoeing, or its content is against the Club’s “duty of care” to its members as outlined in the Club’s constitution (section 15).
- If the Club’s Website Administrator removes any member’s postings or does not publish a member’s trip report or a members photographs, the Club’s Website Administrator has a duty to explain their actions to the Club’s committee who will decide how to communicate this decision, if upheld by the committee, to the member concerned.
The Committees Rights & Responsibilities
- The Club Committee holds the right to perceive the posting of inappropriate content on the Club website as a disciplinary mater, as outlined in the Club’s constitution (section 7), depending upon the nature of the content. The committee will then decide what action needs to be taken in line with the Club’s constitution (section 7).
- PCC Members do have a right to appeal against this decision as outlined in the Club’s constitution (section 7).
Data Protection Officers Responsibilities
The Club’s Data Protection Officer act’s as the “PCC Website Administrator” in order to implement this policy, as outlined in clause 11.9 of the Club’s constitution.
